Distinguished Women

Jenny T. Bagen

Jenny Bagen is currently the President of a newly formed Corporation J.T. Bagen Enterprises, Inc., which offers two components of services: "ENVISION", Innovative Planning Services and a clinical component, "IntiMax" Intimacy Communication Services.

Receiving her Bachelors Degree in Nursing and a Masters Degree in Community Health, Ms. Bagen has traveled a "non-traditional" path as an RN, utilizing her skills and talents to innovatively impact the health care delivery system where she has worked throughout her Nursing Career.

She has held multiple positions of leadership in which she has consistently brought service delivery to a "next level" of operation: Program Coordinator for the Erie County Health Department Reproductive Health Services, Program Director for the Erie County Medical Center AIDS Designated Center, Executive Director Benedict House, and most recently as the Director, Division of Women's Services Sisters Hospital.

What has evolved as her most valuable asset is her program development vision and ability to operationalize that vision into model programs that have impacted at a local, regional, state, and national level. This has been exhibited in the following model programs that influenced the development of: Women's HIV Clinic at ECMC, Women's Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic at ECMC, the First HIV Counseling & Testing Program in the U.S. implemented into the Lackawanna School District, the WNY/Rochester Osteoporosis Prevention and Education Program, and most recently the WNY Uninsured Trust Fund Initiative.

In conjunction with her vision for program development she has been extremely successful in securing grant funds to support these efforts financially. Her most successful efforts where exhibited in the expansion of the ECMC AIDS Center, which was significantly supported by over one million dollars in grant funding from both the State and Federal Government.

She has been involved in the development of a multitude of community wide educational efforts and has been an active speaker on a variety of health care topics. Through her educational efforts, she was requested to conduct (2) community radio programs on local radio stations: "Informania" an informative educational program addressing all aspects of sexual health and "Expressly For Women" directed at all aspects of Women's Health.

Through her work in the field of human sexuality and her training in Sex Therapy from the Institute For the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Fransico, California and Guelph University, Ontario Canada, she currently has developed an alternative for Sex Therapy, "IntiMax" which is a behavioral health approach utilizing effective communication to assist individuals and couples with intimacy and relationship challenges. She currnetly sees clients through Williamsville Counseling Associates, AllCare For Women, and Wellness By Design. Also, to break down the barriers associated with sexuality intervention, Ms. Bagen provides phone consultation for those in need.

She is active in the Episcopal Church and was appointed by Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese as an Advocate on the Sexual Misconduct Task Force for the Diocese of WNY. She is also on the Board of Canaan House, a shelter for women who are successfully recovering drug addicts.

Most important in her life is being a wife to her husband Gene Bagen, the mother of 2 adult children (Norman & Stacey) and a grandmother to 3 grandchildren (Alexander, Sydney, and Max) which have become the light of her life.
